Ammanford’s unbeaten home record in the 2025/26 season came to an end with a 4–0 loss to high‑flying Trefelin.

Town, who played the majority of the match with ten men after Babucar Sauane’s controversial early dismissal, were undone by goals from Tyler Brock, Luke Bowen, Roan Piper and Jordan Davies.

On a night when the club celebrated Euros Griffiths’ remarkable 500th appearance in black and white, the match began at a frenetic pace, with both teams going close inside the opening 10 minutes. Dan John forced Scott Coughlin into a sharp stop at his near post immediately after kick‑off, while at the opposite end, Luke Martin pushed a dangerous ball across the six‑yard box to prevent an early breakthrough for the visitors.

The first major incident arrived after 12 minutes when Luke Bowen went to ground under a challenge from Luke Sylvester, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Town’s players, who felt the decision was harsh, made their feelings known but were unable to influence the outcome. Martin saved the initial spot kick, although Brock reacted quickest to steer the rebound into the bottom corner.

The game’s pivotal moment followed shortly afterwards. Sauane cleared the ball but was adjudged to have made excessive contact with an opponent, resulting in a red card and a second penalty. The decision came as a surprise to both teams, with no significant appeals made on the field. Bowen converted from the spot to extend Trefelin’s advantage.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Wyn Thomas’ side continued to press. Matt Delaney fired narrowly over, a corner was scrambled off the line and Dan John remained industrious throughout, repeatedly unsettling the visiting defence.

Town came agonisingly close to halving the deficit shortly before the interval when Griffiths met a corner with a powerful header, only for Coughlin to produce an outstanding save. With players committed forward, Ammanford were caught short at the back, allowing Piper to break clear and score, giving Trefelin a commanding lead at half‑time.

The boss introduced Matthew Fisher, Alex Giardelli and Seth Woodhouse for the second half, but it was the visitors who struck again. The strong wind, which had been a factor all evening, assisted a corner from Jordan Davies that curled directly into the net.

The fourth goal ended hopes of a late revival. Although Town worked tirelessly throughout, Trefelin managed the closing stages effectively to preserve their unbeaten run and extend their winning streak to nine matches.
