Ammanford had to settle for a point in a hard fought goalless draw against Trethomas Bluebirds on a bitterly cold night at the Rec.
Ammanford started brightly from kick off however it was Luke Martin who was forced into the first save of the match in the fourth minute.
Trethomas grew into the game and their frontline were a constant threat to the Ammanford defence.
Ammanford were struggling to create any clear cut chances early on but in the 17th minute Adam John found Dan John who shot straight at the keeper.
Three minutes later Trethomas keeper Aaron Jones was forced into another save, tipping a Morgan Clarke shot from outside the area over the bar.
Ammanford were being restricted to largely half chances against a well organised Trethomas defence. In the 27th minute Dan John found Adam John in space who then set up Morgan Clarke for another shot at goal which cleared the crossbar.
A minute later an excellent save from Luke Martin prevented Jay Thomas from scoring against his former club.
Just after the half hour mark Morgan Clarke sent another shot wide of the post.
In the 36th minute Ammanford midfielder Adam Orme got on the end of a cross but could only watch as his header looped over the crossbar onto the roof of the net.
Eight minutes after the break Adam John sent a free kick from just outside the area wide of the far post.
The second half was again played at a frantic pace with both defences coming out on top, resricting their opponents to half chances.
In the 74th minute substitute Callum Thomas found space but could only send his shot straight at Trethomas keeper Jones.
Ammanford fans were on their feet deep into injury time when Dan John dispossessed the Trethomas right back before racing in on goal, his shot beat the despairing dive of Jones but John had to watch in agony as the ball clipped the outside of the far post.
Ammanford gain a point which takes us back into the top three above Caerau Ely who lost at leaders Cambrian.
