Ammanford earned their third consecutive home win with a 3-1 victory over Goytre United.
Goals from Lewis Reed, Callum Thomas, and Rhys Davies ensured that Town secured another victory on home soil, catapulting them up to 10th position in the process.
On a bitterly cold night, Ammanford made a bright start and came close with a pair of chances in the opening ten minutes. Rhys Davies did well to cut in from his wing and curled a shot narrowly over the bar before Lewis Reed went even closer, hitting the bar with a great header from a set piece.
Although the hosts were on top, Luke Martin had to be alert to stop league hotshot Keane Watts from continuing his electric form, making a good save with his feet before smothering a dangerous counterattack.
Young stopper Lucas Cavalcante was performing well in the visiting goal, producing fantastic saves from efforts by Adam John and Euros Griffiths.
However, there was nothing he could do about the opener, which came midway through the first half. John’s corner was flicked at the front post by Reed’s head and went straight into the back of the net.
There was little goalmouth action after the goal until moments before the interval when Callum Thomas finished well into the bottom corner in stoppage time, giving Town a two-goal cushion.
But before the referee’s halftime whistle, there was time for another twist as Watts finally got the goal he’d been threatening all half, halving the deficit going into the break.
The visitors started the second half stronger, dominating territory and possession. However, despite this advantage, they could not find a way past a well-organised Town defence.
After weathering the pressure, the Black and Whites regained a foothold in the game, hitting the bar twice in just over two minutes through goalscorers Reed and Thomas.
After going agonisingly close, Wyn Thomas’ men restored their two-goal advantage minutes later. Ellis Williams’ free kick was parried away but fell straight into the path of Rhys Davies. The winger was grateful for the opportunity and tucked away his third goal of the campaign.
Laurie Marsh’s men continued to push to get back in the game but saw efforts stopped by Martin, with a strike from substitute Leon Rayner going over the bar, as the home side secured their third consecutive win at the Recreation Ground.
