Ammanford’s JD Welsh Cup third-round game at home to Haverfordwest County has been selected for television coverage by national broadcaster S4C.
The fixture at The Rec will kick off at 2:20 PM on Saturday, 16 November. If you are unable to attend in person, you can catch the action on S4C, S4C Clic, BBC iPlayer, and Sgorio’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
This match is part of a double-header of Welsh football on S4C, with live coverage of Cymru’s UEFA Nations League fixture against Türkiye to follow the conclusion of the JD Welsh Cup match.
This tie will see Ammanford and the Bluebirds face off in this storied competition for the second consecutive season, with the Pembrokeshire-based side emerging victorious last year with a score of 2-0. The two teams also met during preseason in July, when Tony Pennock’s side won 3-0 against an experimental Ammanford team.
The Black and Whites have reached this stage of the competition thanks to a famous 1-0 victory over top-tier Aberystwyth Town, while in the previous round, Haverfordwest triumphed in the battle of the Bluebirds against tier-2 Trethomas thanks to a penalty shootout.
Manager Wyn Thomas stated, “I’m delighted that the club, supporters, and community can come together to celebrate this fantastic football club. The hard work has already begun to make this a day to remember.”
Chairman Rob Thomas was equally pleased with the news. “This is great news for the club. It gives us another opportunity to showcase our ever-improving facilities and the atmosphere that the Black and White Army generates in support of Wyn Thomas and the boys!”
