Ammanford AFC are delighted to bolster their attacking arsenal with the capture of Jonathan Evans from Aberystwyth.

The 33 year old moves from North to South Dyfed after another stellar season in Black and Green, ending the season as the Seasiders’ top scorer finding the net 10 times in 21 appearances including against Ammanford at the Recreation Ground in February.

Having come through the ranks at Aberystwyth Town, bus driver Evans moved to the capital where he was a part of Cardiff City’s Under 18 side. Whilst a part of the Bluebirds set up, he represented his country at schoolboy and under 16 level in the Victory shield competition.

Across multiple spells with Aberystwyth, Penrhyncoch and Briton Ferry Llansawel, Evans has amassed over 200 appearances and scored over half a century of goals. This includes over a century in the top flight and 30 goals in the top division in the country.

Speaking on his decision to move to Town, Evans commented, “Having played against Ammanford last season, I could see how much of a passionate club that they are.

“There’s a great bunch of lads, staff and supporters here so when Wyn called me and offered me the chane to play in the Cymru Premier again, at this stage in my career, it’s an opportunity I just couldn’t say no to.

“These chances don’t come around every day so I’m hoping to make the most of it and reward the club for putting their faith in me.

“I’m looking forward to another season in the Premier and who knows, maybe the old bus driver can help cause a few upsets.”
