Owain joins the Town!

Ammanford AFC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Owain Davies from Haverfordwest County.

Davies becomes the latest in a string of young talent to move eastwards from Pembrokeshire to Carmarthenshire, following in the footsteps of former attacker Dan John and current fullback Seth Woodhouse.

After signing his first professional contract last year, the twenty-year-old made his first team debut in a 4-0 defeat against Cardiff City before making his league debut against the league champions The New Saints at the end of campaign.

He joins Ammanford on the back of playing a significant role in his former outfit’s treble winning season last time out which saw the Bluebirds qualify for European competition for this season.

Speaking on his decision to move to Town, Davies stated, “I’m buzzing to be joining such a fantastic club. After speaking to Sean and Wyn over the past few weeks, it became a bit of a no brainer for me.

“Ammanford is a great community club which is constantly growing. I’m looking forward to get started and play in front of the club’s brilliant fans.”

Wyn Thomas told us, “Owain is a fantastic talent and one who we’re excited to work with. He’s played well throughout preseason and he showed his pedigree last season with Haverfordwest’s academy. I’m delighted to get him at Ammanford.”
