TJ joins Ammanford

Ammanford AFC is delighted to announce the signature of attacking midfielder Thomas Johnson.

Johnson, who’s more affectionately known as TJ, becomes the latest face to join the Town squad after a positive start has seen the Black and White’s sitting in second.

TJ is no stranger to the management team having worked with Wyn Thomas at Swansea University FC, now known as Pure Swansea, when they won the league back in 2020 alongside teammates Luke Martin, Adam Orme and Adam Morgan.

As well as playing for the Swansea University, he’s also played for Llanelli Town AFC. However, injury has curtailed his appearances of late having missed out on 18 months of competitive football but has been making positive steps towards returning to first team football having trained with Ammanford for the past month.

Speaking on his decision to sign for Town, TJ stated, “I’m really excited to be joining a great club. I’ve always admired the community feel here and I can’t wait to play in front of this brilliant fan base.

“This is a top group of boys and there’s a real winning mentality here. Wyn told me all about the club’s big ambitions and it was an easy decision. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Wyn Thomas told us, “TJ is another game changer and someone I know all about. He’s a brilliant addition to the squad and one who gives us yet another dynamic to our play.”
