Gav’s Back! Jones returns to the Rec

 

Ammanford AFC is proud to confirm the return of Gavin Jones, who re-joins the club from local rivals Carmarthen Town.

 

Jones is a familiar face to the Black and Whites, having previously played for Ammanford between 2018 and 2020. During that time, he made 81 appearances in all competitions and scored an impressive 41 goals.

 

One of his standout moments came at Richmond Park, where he scored twice in Ammanford’s unforgettable 4-0 victory over Carmarthen Town who were then a Cymru Premier side.

 

Following his initial spell at Ammanford, Jones stepped up to the top tier with Aberystwyth Town, and later featured for Briton Ferry Llansawel, Goytre United, Llanelli Town, and most recently Carmarthen Town. Across these clubs, he has added nearly 50 goals to his name, underlining his attacking prowess.

 

Speaking about his return, Gavin said: “I’m delighted to be back at Ammanford. It’s a fantastic club with brilliant people on and off the field. It feels like coming home. I can’t wait to get started and play in front of the Black and White Army.”

 

Manager Wyn Thomas shared his excitement: “Gavin is a quality player who gives us another attacking option. His goal-scoring record speaks for itself, and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome him back.”
