The Captain’s back! Ormey commits to Cymru Premier Campaign!

Ammanford AFC is delighted to kick off its recruitment for the 2026/27 campaign with the return of club captain Adam Orme.

The influential central midfielder will once again lead the team as we embark on our maiden season in the Cymru Premier, following our historic promotion back in April.

This marks the second time the 34‑year‑old has earned promotion to the top flight, having previously helped Swansea University secure the Cymru South title during the curtailed 2019/20 season.

Orme first joined Ammanford in the summer of 2023, linking up with Wyn Thomas for the second time in his career. After making an impressive start in black and white, an injury disrupted the early months of 2024.

Since returning, he has been a consistent presence in the starting XI and is now closing in on 100 appearances for the club. Following the departure of Luke Harris in 2024, Orme took on the captaincy and has worn the armband for the past two seasons.

Before arriving in Carmarthenshire, Orme enjoyed spells with Llanelli, Goytre United, and a stint in Australia with Moreland. He also brings continental experience, having represented Swansea University in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

Reflecting on his decision to stay, Orme said, “I’m delighted to have signed on again for another season.

“After what we achieved last year, gaining promotion to the Cymru Premier for the first time in the club’s history, there was never much doubt in my mind.

“I’m very excited for the challenge ahead and to keep building with this group of players, staff, and supporters.”

Croeso nol Ormey!
