Ammanford AFC is delighted to welcome defender Babucar Sauane back to the club for his third season in black and white.
The Gambian, who arrive in Carmarthenshire via Afan Lido and Brynna, has become a hugely popular figure both on and off the field since his arrival in January 2025, establishing himself as a crucial part of the club’s defensive unit.
Known for his work ethic, determination, power and pace, Baba scooped the Supporters’ Player of the Year award in his debut campaign despite only featuring for half of the season.
Alongside Chris Bell and the recently announced Euros Griffiths, he was part of a back three that went on to keep 14 clean sheets in the Cymru South during the 2025/26 campaign.
Speaking on his decision to remain at the club, Sauane said, “I’m really happy to sign for Ammanford AFC and I can’t wait for the season to start!
“After achieving promotion last season, I was thinking about next season because I’ve moved to Birmingham. But when I think about the love I received here from the staff, fans and the boys, I won’t get that anywhere else.
“I can’t wait to play for the Black and White Army again!”
