Chris Bell has become the latest Ammanford AFC star to confirm his commitment to the club.
The 29‑year‑old Scotsman was a key figure in last season’s defensive unit, helping the side record 14 league clean sheets. His decision to stay represents a major boost to Wyn Thomas’ plans ahead of our first campaign in the Cymru Premier.
Bell began his career at Pontyclun before making his name with Llantwit Major in the JD Cymru South. He joined Ammanford in the summer of 2024, though his first spell in Black and White lasted just two matches before he moved across the border to Cinderford Town.
But the pull of the Recreation Ground proved too strong. Bell returned last summer and has since made 23 appearances league appearances, scoring once; a powerful set piece header against Treowen Stars. His composed, committed and commanding performances have made him a favourite among teammates and supporters alike.
Reflecting on his decision to stay, Bell said, “I’m delighted to commit to Ammanford AFC as we compete in the Cymru Premier for the first time in the club’s history.
“There’s a great sense of community and togetherness at the club which makes it a pleasure to play for.
“I can’t wait to get back to it with this fantastic bunch of players, staff and of course supporters.
“That said, my main incentive is that Wyn agreed that I could be our first‑choice striker this year!”
