Ammanford AFC’s final preseason fixture takes place this Saturday and sees them take to the Recreational Ground for the fourth time in a fortnight.
After three matches, Town are unbeaten following a draw against Evans and Williams followed by victories against Chepstow Town AFC and Seven Sisters Onllwyn. This weekend’s fixture offers manager Gruff Harrison his final opportunity to assess his charges before they take to the field next Saturday in the first competitive game of the 2023-24 campaign.
Tuesday night’s victory will put Town in a confident mood, not only with the result, but with the number of chances the Black and White’s were able to create throughout the course of the match.
Our opponents this weekend are Trethomas Bluebirds. Founded in 1903, the Bluebirds are based in Caerphilly. They finished fourth last season and they beat next Saturday’s opposition 2-0 on the final day of last term. During their campaign, Trethomas won 16 of their games and lost only 8 whilst drawing the other 8.
Entry on Saturday is again £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. Although the weather forecast doesn’t look favourable, there are ample covered seats and refreshments available to keep you safe from the elements! A warm welcome awaits you!
