Ammanford AFC is delighted to announce that Owain Davies has committed his future to the club ahead of the upcoming JD Cymru Premier season.
The young defender extends his association with the club after a stellar maiden campaign in Black and White, during which he earned plaudits for his consistency, set‑piece delivery, and tireless work rate.
After making his debut away at Ynyshir Albions, the former Haverfordwest County man quickly became a model of reliability as Ammanford went on to keep 14 clean sheets en route to securing promotion to the top flight.
This won’t be Davies’ first foray into the Cymru Premier. After signing a professional contract with Haverfordwest County, he made two appearances for the Bluebirds, including an outing against the imperious TNS. During his time in Pembrokeshire, he played alongside Dan John and Seth Woodhouse, with the young squad achieving an unprecedented treble for the club.
Last season, the 21‑year‑old balanced his commitments at Ammanford with his studies at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where his university side won a league and cup double. His performances earned him the Player of the Year award.
Speaking on his decision to stay, Davies told us, “I’m over the moon to have siged for another season.
“There wasn’t any doubt for me as I love playing for Ammanford!
“Achieving promotion to the Cymru Premier with this group was an unbelievable feeling, and something I was very grateful to have been a part of.
“I’m looking forward to the upcoming challenges, and to continue to build with this group of players and staff.
I can’t wait to play in front of the Black and White army again!”
