The first league fixture of September rolls around on Saturday at the Recreation Ground as Cambrian and Clydach come to Carmarthenshire.
Last time out in the league, Tristan Jenkins’ brace saw Ammanford run out deserved winners against Abergavenny Town in front of a good crowd of over 300. Since then, they’ve ensured continued involvement in four competitions after 5-4 win against Taffs Well thanks to Morgan Clarke’s hattrick.
Town are in good form in the league with just one defeat in their opening four fixtures. Going into the game, Ammanford find themselves in fourth place just three points behind leaders Britton Ferry Llansawel.
The visitors come into the fixture just one place and one point below Gruff Harrison’s side in the JD Cymru South table.
They too have made a positive start to the campaign and are currently undefeated following the first five matches. They boast victories against Caerau Ely, Abertillery Bluebirds and Trefelin whilst the spoils were shared against Afan Lido and Taffs Well.
Managed by Richie Ryan, the Cam Army are one of the most formidable outfits in the second tier. Many of their fabled youth academy have gone on to play for local Football League side Cardiff City. In 2018/19, the Cam Army made it all the way to the final of the Nathanial MG Cup, knocking out holders TNS en-route before narrowly losing to Cardiff Met in the showpiece event.
They boast numerous players with Cymru League experience including Dave Vincent, Dan Spencer and Cameron Keetch.
Refereeing the game on Saturday will be Jack Stuckey and he will be assisted by Matthew Johnson and Ewan Reed.
Kick off on Saturday is at the traditional time of 2:30pm. Entry is priced at £5 for adults and £4 for concessions. Printed programmes are available on the gate for just £2. We would like to thank ARL and Penybanc Cars for their generous Match Day Sponsorship as well as DJ Davies Files as the Match ball sponsors.
