Ammanford ended a run of three straight defeats with a hard fought victory away at Goytre United.
After a goalless first half, second-half strikes from Macsen Llewelyn and Matthew Fisher earned Town a vital three points.
The Black and Whites started brightly, carving out several early chances. Opposition keeper Luke Jones made smart saves to deny Adam John and Lewis Reed, keeping the scores level.
The deadlock was almost broken in spectacular fashion after 20 minutes. Ammanford won possession in midfield and Fisher, spotting Jones off his line, attempted an audacious 45-yard lob. His effort beat the keeper but cannoned against the crossbar before falling into Jones’ grateful arms.
Further opportunities fell to Jon Invernizzi, Morgan Clarke, and John, but Ammanford were unable to find the breakthrough before the interval.
While Town had the better of the first half exchanges, United began the second half on the front foot, creating several chances. Ammanford were indebted to Luke Martin, who produced a trio of strong saves to deny Iwan Batcup, Caleb Rodgers, and Isaac Davies.
With the hosts in the ascendancy, Wyn Thomas introduced Macsen Llewelyn and Adam Orme to turn the tide and the substitutes made an immediate impact.
Llewelyn latched onto a flicked pass and calmly slotted the ball under Jones for his first goal in Town colours.
Moments later, Fisher doubled the lead with a trademark finish. After receiving a pass from Orme, he cut inside and curled a sublime shot into the top corner.
Now in control, Ammanford pushed for a third. John went close at the far post, while Fisher’s free-kick was blocked by a resolute defensive wall.
Goytre set up a nervy finale when Drew Parrott found the net from a tight angle just as five minutes of stoppage time were announced.
Having conceded late in recent matches, Ammanford showed composure to see out the game and confirm their survival in the JD Cymru South.
