TJ here for the Cymru Premier!

Ammanford AFC is delighted to confirm that attacking midfielder Thomas Johnston will remain with the club ahead of the upcoming Cymru Premier season.

Affectionately known as TJ, Johnston continues his association with the Black and Whites following a determined return to first team football after a prolonged period on the sidelines. The midfielder initially joined the club last season as he worked his way back from a serious injury that ruled him out of action for close to two years.

His patience and perseverance were rewarded in January, when he made his league debut against fellow Cymru Premier newcomers Trefelin. Johnston went on to play a significant role during the latter stages of the campaign, contributing to the club’s successful push for promotion during the close season.

Prior to his arrival at Ammanford, Johnston represented Swansea University (now known as Pure Swansea) and Llanelli Town AFC, enjoying success at both clubs. His latest achievement with Ammanford marks the third promotion of his career, underlining his experience and winning mentality.

Speaking about extending his stay in Carmarthenshire, the 27 year old stated, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing on for another season at Ammanford.

“It’s always been my ambition to play in the Cymru Premier and to do it with such a fantastic club with a brilliant fan base makes it that little bit sweeter.

“It’s a special group of players and we’re all excited for the challenge ahead!”
