Luke makes it 3! Sylvester back for the Cymru Premier campaign

Luke Sylvester has become the latest member of Ammanford AFC’s promotion-winning squad to commit his future to the club.

The full-back will extend his stay at the club into a third season, having first joined in August 2024.

Sylvester brings a wealth of experience, having previously enjoyed spells with Taffs Well, Pontypridd United, Penybont and Goytre Gwent, before making a move to his hometown club, Barry Town United. He was part of the Linnets side that dominated the Cymru South in 2023, prior to his arrival in Carmarthenshire.

After a positive start to life in black and white, the 27-year-old saw his debut season cut short after suffering a broken leg on Boxing Day 2024.

Following months of rehabilitation, Sylvester made his long-awaited return to action away at Penrhyncoch last season, going on to make 29 appearances in all competitions.

A popular figure both on and off the pitch, Sylvester has come to embody the values of Ammanford AFC, demonstrating unwavering commitment, superb desire and an exceptional work rate.

He told us on his decision to stay in SA18, “I’m over the moon to be coming back for my third season at the club and even more excited when looking at the challenge ahead of us!

“Achieving promotion last season made for such a special season for the club, this time we know will be different test for us but we hope it can be equally special!

“The group, staff and especially the fans made the decision an easy one”
