Ammanford AFC is delighted to confirm the capture of Keane Whitmore for the 25/26 season.
Whitmore’s name will be familiar to the Town faithful as his older brother, Kai, played for the club in the 2022/23 season before moving up the football pyramid to the Cymru Premier and to League Two in the English system where he currently resides with Newport County.
Keane joins the club from Pontardawe in the Ardal South West. Prior to his time in the Swansea valley, the 18 year old attacker had spent the majority of last season with JD Cymru South side Trefelin, making 13 outings, finding the back of the net once in a WBS cup tie against Cambrian United.
He also had a distinguished youth career, turning out for the academy sides of Penybont and Britton Ferry Llansawel as well as Bryncoch youth.
Speaking about his decision to join Town, Keane stated, “Ever since watching my brother down at Ammanford a couple of years ago, the crowd was something that stood out to me immediately.
“I can’t wait to play in front of them at the Recreation Ground and hopefully grab a few goals for them too.”
Manager Wyn Thomas stated, “Keane has trained really well over the summer and I’m happy to have him as part of the squad here at Ammanford. He fits what we’re trying to superbly and we’re looking forward to helping him develop as a player.”
