Ammanford AFC brought the curtain down on the 2024/25 season with their annual presentation evening, held at Ammanford Cricket Club on Saturday night.
The celebration of the men’s teams’ achievements was supported by event sponsors Subway Ammanford, who provided an excellent buffet that kept everyone well fed and in high spirits.
First Team Awards
It was a successful evening once again for striker Lewis Reed, who picked up two of the five available awards. Just like last season, Reed claimed the Top Goalscorer accolade after netting 19 times in the league, including an impressive four-goal haul against Cwmbran Celtic back in October.
The former Ipswich Town forward also scooped the Management Team’s Player of the Season award following another sterling campaign since making the switch from Pontardawe two summers ago. In addition to his 19 goals, Reed also contributed seven assists, underlining his all-round attacking contribution.
Between the posts, Luke Martin was recognised by his teammates as he picked up the Players’ Player of the Year award. The former Swansea University stopper has been a consistent figure in the side since joining in the summer of 2023. He kept five clean sheets and produced a string of vital saves this term, including standout performances against Haverfordwest County and former club Llanelli Town AFC.
Callum Thomas was named Young Player of the Year. Despite being just 21, the attacking midfielder already boasts significant experience and was a deserved recipient of the award after a string of impressive performances, including a memorable hat-trick against Afan Lido and the winner in our historic cup win away at Aberystwyth Town.
The Supporters’ Player of the Season was awarded to Babucar Sauane. The defender, who joined the club in January, has quickly become a fan favourite both on and off the pitch. His committed displays included two man-of-the-match performances, first against former side Afan Lido in January and later against eventual league champions Llanelli Town AFC at Stebonheath Park.

Reserve Team Recognition
The achievements of the reserve team were also celebrated. Management duo Ben Soal and James Murray, both former excellent players for the club, chose to honour Ceiron Davies as their Player of the Season, recognising his consistency and leadership at the heart of the back line.
Despite suffering an early-season injury, Gruff Newman claimed the Top Scorer award for the reserves thanks to his sharp eye for goal.
Meanwhile, Fin Brownless was named the Players’ Player of the Season. His versatility and dependable performances across a number of positions have made him a valuable asset for the squad throughout the campaign.

Development Squad Achievements
The club’s development squad also had cause to celebrate, controversially missing out on a cup final after a tough campaign. Manager Christian Lloyd, who took the helm in December, was full of praise for his young players.
His Player of the Season award went to Cai Thomas, a 17-year-old who joined from neighbours Caerbryn in January and has since become a key part of the team.
At the other end of the age spectrum, the Players’ Player award was given to Anthony Douglas. A long-serving figure at the club, Douglas’ experience and leadership have proven invaluable during challenging spells this season and he continues to serve as a mentor to the squad’s younger members on and off the field.

Congratulations to all of this season’s award winners!
