Club legend Nich Arnold has announced his intention to retire from competitive football following the completion of the 2024/25 season.
After a twenty-year association with the club, which started when he was a six-year-old boy, the defender has called time on his career due to work and personal commitments. Arnold has recently set up his own osteopathy business, Lifestyle Osteopathy and Injury Clinic, based in Cross Hands.
Arnold will go down as a legendary figure at the club. In two spells, sandwiched between a six-month stint at Garden Village, the defender made nearly 250 appearances in black and white for the first team, reserves, development team and youth teams.
Somewhat befittingly, Arnold’s only goal came with his final touch for the club as his superb finish salvaged a point deep into stoppage time against Baglan Dragons on the final day of the last campaign.
The Betws native was a huge fan favourite for his passion, determination and commitment to the club. He will be sorely missed by all both on and off the field.
Taking to social media to announce his decision, Arnold stated, “After nearly 250 appearances, I have to say goodbye to this football club. The pleasure has been mine. I’ll definitely be back as a fan as soon as possible!”
All at the club would like to wish Nich nothing but the best of luck in the future. We wish him a happy retirement on the field and every success with his business and upcoming wedding. We look forward to seeing him as part of the Black and White Army soon!
