Goalkeeper Josh Hutchings has made the decision to stay at Ammanford AFC for the forthcoming campaign.

The 22-year-old is embarking on his third season at the club following his arrival in the summer of 2023.

As a youngster, the Pembrokeshire-born stopper played for Milford United and Haverfordwest County before being picked up by Swansea City as a 16-year-old in the same intake as club teammate Morgan Clarke.

After leaving Landore, Hutchings signed for Llanelli but only made three appearances for the Reds before moving across the county to sign for Town.

However, disaster struck for him as he picked up a serious injury on his debut away at Trefelin, keeping him out for the majority of the 2023–24 season.

After returning to action, Hutchings started last term with regular game time, but after a red card away at Llantwit Major kept him out for three games, he had to wait until the final matches of the season to reclaim his spot. He made two strong showings away at Penrhiwceiber Rangers and at home to Baglan Dragons.

Speaking on his decision to stay, Hutchings stated, “I’m looking forward to getting back to the club and into pre-season. I want to hit the ground running and, most importantly, I want to play for the badge on the shirt.

“This is a great club and hopefully we can push on towards the top spot in the table!”

Manager Wyn Thomas stated, “We are blessed to have two top-quality goalkeepers at the club. Josh has proven he is a terrific keeper and we are looking forward to helping him fulfil his potential as part of our club.”
